What inspired me to set this site up?
From my early teens I would review books that I had borrowed from the library or bought at book shops. I was never one to read the classics though I made a few attempts and found myself much happier reading the more contemporary popular fiction of this world. Mixing the chick-lit of Louise Bagshaw with the more gritty and gruelling side of life through Alice Sebold.
Personally, I find, a good book is one you can’t put down, the one that is so engrossing that you have to get to the end of. It’s a book that you take in the bath, the story that stays with you long after you’ve turned the final page. Equally, a good book does what it says on the tin that helps fill a bit of time and you are quite happy to leave behind having made no ruffles in your life.
Either way, a good book is a book that is worth its weight in gold.
So that’s the inspiration behind setting up this book review website – plus I like to have a good chat about what I’ve just read and finding out from friends the next book that is worth a read.
